strangevisitor7: I will call Her george (Muse)
Hey out there. Been a bit off the grid these days. The Muse has been cooperative but I think weaning her off the speed. It has been detrimental because my out put has been down. She wants to write but just hasn't had the energy lately.

Still, the good news is I finished my story for the [community profile] hlh_shortcuts. Halfway through a new Chlean story and the Spawn Apocalypse is still underway though I haven't made any progress lately.

I thought it was time to weigh in on the new television season now that most of the shows have returned. I am a TV addict and proud of it but have yet to find anything in the new season worth adding to my list! What new shows have grabbed your interest?

So let’s get started: Each Show has it's own cut in case of Spoilers.

Heroes )

NCIS )

Bones )

Supernatural: Happy Supernatural Day )

Smallville )

Some thoughts on new shows:
Life On Mars: I love the BBC version and had no plans to watch the American one and then they cast Harvey Keitel as Gene Hunt. Brilliant does not begin to cover how much i like this choice - I felt Colm Meaney was badly cast Gene Hunt in the original American pilot. So while Harvey will have to go a long way to best Philip Glenister and I don't see Jason O'Mara being any where near as good as John Simm, I will be watching next Thursday for sure.

The Eleventh Hour: Didn’t like it when Patrick Stewart did it on the BBC so I won’t be watching this one

Fringe: Watched it twice – It felt like a low rent x-files. I'm done with it but Hubby likes it, so i may end up continuing to watch anyway.

True Blood: All this did was make me miss Moonlight which was a good Vampire show. This was just bad on every level.

The Mentalist: Haven’t seen it yet. It seems like a bad version of Psych without the cool Shawn and Gus banter. Though I adore Simon Baker and keep meaning to catch it Anybody have anything to say to recommend this?

Next time I'll cover the comedies

Already missing my summer shows Burn Notice, excellent finale, and Psych.

So what are your thoughts about the return of your favorite shows. Any new ones I should be watching?

I need to rant about Bones – yes spoilers!

Wow, June. Last week of school for the kids

Why can't we adults get summers off? I taught school for 5 years (Chemistry/Physics); Summers off were great but then I went back to the manufacturing world (pay's better) but gave up those summers. So, why can't the non-educational world do the same. I mean not every summer but you know - Stay with a company 5 years get one summer off. Instead I make due with 3 weeks vacation and as many personal days as i can wrangle. Heck, I have to be here 10 years before I get that 4th week.

Ok so enough ranting and more rec'ing

I read this amazing SG-1/BtVS cross this weekend. Bridges by Tassos. Xander finds meets his real Dad and it's Jack O'Niell.

I love crossover stories and I especially like unusual ones:
How about a Hardy boys Teen!Winchesters story. First Impressions by Phx There is also a sequel Close Encounters. The interaction between the brother sets is fun. The sequel combines the supernatural with a criminal case the Hardy's are investigating. Also, in the sequel we get the parents interacting. Mrs. Hardy is the mother you wish for the Winchesters.

[livejournal.com profile] idiot4dean wrote a Bones/SPN crossover Beauty is but Skin Deep I think this would get the boys off the FBI's radar, so I like this universe

[livejournal.com profile] trolllogicfics wrote One Shot. This was one of the first things I ever read in the SPN world and still one of my favorites. To say more would spoil it.

[personal profile] trollprincess wrote Now Jerk That Pistol and go to Work . A great "I told you not to touch that" story.

Finally, I just want to mention that [livejournal.com profile] jinnifanfic has been a writing machine cranking out a series of "Five things" stories that cross all fandoms Drop by and read them they are a lot of fun, angsty, silly and just plain great. But best of all , since I am a new lj participant, it is the first time anyone has written something from a prompt from me. *does a little happy dance*

I finally figured out all the coding and came back to fix this entry because the big links were bugging me.
