Writing Stuff and Ficathons

Next time you hear me even mention I might want to sign up for a ficthon - Please smack me. I don't know why I do this. I get these weird assignments and then I have no idea what to write.

The exception to my ficathon misery was the was the kick-ass highlander holiday ficathon. The memory of that great experience has blinded me to the realities of ficathon assignments.

I've decided I need to get organized: Here's a list of all the things I am writing or want to write this month! Some started - some just planned.
1) The Mag7/SPN crossover sequel to "Ghost Town" - 16,000+ words and closing in on the end!WooHoo!

2) The SPN/FF/HL/SV - Immortal!Dean in space sequel to "Into The Coming Storm" is plotted and since everyone keeps asking - Yes - Methos will be in it and Dean will not be happy.

3) Next Watcher!Abby - Gibbs is investigating Richie - about halfway done.

4) Richie and Jo - Completely plotted just have to get it out of my head. I've been meaning to write this for a long time and now i have a deadline. Thanks dragonsinger Yay!

5) I know there's at least one more thing I've promised - help me out here. And no there will not be a MacGyver/SPN sequel for sometime. Sorry guys.

So yeah - The ficathons:
1) A Numb3rs story about the Eppes brothers all three prompts want Wee!Eppes. Hopefully all my Spawn fic will help with this one but I've written exactly one Numb3rs story.

2) It's a crossover assignment and I only recognize 4 fandoms on her list. Firefly, Quantum leap, X-files and House. yeah good luck crossing those. Sighs - I've never defaulted so I won't give up yet. The deadline is in august!

But best of all:
The next spawnfic_tues story. Truthfully these have been some of the easiest and most fun stories I've ever written. I love this community - *HUGS* to all the other Spawn writers!


So am I a loon or what!! Wait - don't answer that.

Hmm... how about House/Firefly? House's personality could be part of some sort of interactive holographic medical template [g] Or a gravimetric storm throws the crew back to Earth That Was and they try and fit in on Earth and Simon takes a job as a new Fellow in House's department. Or River finds a cryogenic pod and insists they open it and find House.

You know I've always wanted to write House. I like the idea that he was incorporated into a diagnostic computer as a personality - Like HAL only snarky. That could be Hilarious. I think I could make that work - Seriously.

I think I'd really like to try my hand at house - I've seen every episode so I feel like i know the fandom. I've made the mistake of trying to write a fandom I'm was only vaguely familiar with once and I won't do that again.

Look for it at the end of August. XD

I'm so in love with the entire Winchester brood - every one of the snarky, sneaky little buggers. Too bad we can't come up with some short of Class Picture that includes them all. That would be too cool.

It would be the easiest way to get all the Spawn in one place. That's for sure. xD I jokingly suggested to clarksmuse once that it would be funny, chaotic, and a little alarming to have all the spawn in one fic. Then I thought of the headaches it would entail for all involved and ix-nayed the idea.

That might be the crackiest thing ever written. Come- on! it would be so much fun to universe swap them. They wake up one morning and its Holly instead of Grace in the house and everyone is confused. Or worse - JD, Holly, Chance and Grace in the same house - holy crap the end of the world.

You are so much more organized than I am. I seriously need to write down what I need to get finished this month. Fortunately I have only signed up for one ficathon, and while there's another one I'd like to sign up for, I don't know if that's going to happen.

Also? I keep coming up with ideas for more Spawn!fic... someone help me out here and find a way to keep the plotbunnies from multiplying!

I really want to knock out the mag7 story because it's sucking all the creativity from the others. Usually i jump around and that keeps me writing but that story is demanding all my attention right now. I think that's why I'm feeling a little overwhelmed

ahh... yeah, i know what you mean. i was trying to write my Maya'verse/Moonlight crossover, when i had the Tin Man AU voices yelling at me... i did manage to finish the Maya'verse/Moonlight cross, and it does sound good when i re-read it at my writers' group.... :)

Well hey! Quantam leap could cross with any of those. LOL. what about Mulder hitting a rift and getting transported to Serenity for like 24 hours before he gets sucked back to his time/place?

That is true QL does cross with any of them. Just not sure which would be the best person for Sam to leap into without it feeling cliche. Sam is a doctor and would be funny if he jumped into Wilson or even better Cuddy - it would confuse the heck out of House.

Rift are good - Alien rifts are better and could work for X-files. I've never written x-files though i love the show. I'm a little foggy on all the conspiracy canon but I suppose I could stay away from that.

Huh. You're to do list is nearly as long as mine.

I feel your pain on the ficathon front, as I just pumped out 2000+ words in what will go down as the worst thing I've written in quite a while. (I'll post the prompts I got once the site goes live.)

On the bright side, the other 2 ficathons are ones I've done in the past that worked out very well, so I'm not too worried about those ones.

Also - 'Yay! Methos!'. :D

I hope I wasn't giving anything away by talking about the ficathons. I figured it was ok because I got two people whose flist do not cross mine at all but I know secrecy is a big thing.

I haven't done many but the bad out weigh the one good experience.

I just pumped out 2000+ words in what will go down as the worst thing I've written in quite a while I don't believe you could write anything as awful as you say this is. Seriously. Want me to look at it?
