I must have voted about 500 times - hell i've been hitting redial for three hours straight so maybe more - Yep I'm obsessed with Cookie. I just turned the phone over to my mom because my fingers are dead. And now that the west coast lines are open we're not getting through - which is good!

Cookie was terrific. I have no idea why the judges suddenly turned on him. Simon even gave the night to Archie - what's up with that. Really pissed that they would crown DA like that. Archie is as boring as they come.

Cook even made the horrid coronation ballad sound good! And I give him credit for not repeating an easy song but sang something that obviously meant a lot to him - he had tears in his eyes folks

The good news is DialIdol.com has Cook up by 12 points and they have correctly predicted the winner since they started 4 years ago. Dial Idol view it here

Personally -- I don't think he was giving all he could tonight. Granted, this is the first episode of Idol I've seen this season, but my mom, who's been watching all season, was really disappointed by his performance tonight.

The thing that got me is that he picked all really safe songs. They were good performances, but they weren't phenomenal. They weren't songs that you should be picking when this is your last chance to make an impression. It was rather disappointing, considering I'd heard a lot of great things about this guy.

As for David A., he really gave his all into the performances He picked songs that would stretch his range, as well as show off what he already had. If Cook had picked more songs that showed he really wanted this, I probably would have been a lot more impressed.

...and that was a really long ramble. Sorry.

I understand completely where you are coming from - this was not an epsiode which would let you fall in love with Coo.

I know that Cook didn't shine like he had in the past but he could only pick one song. The first was from Nigel and the second was the contest winner - only the third was his choice and I thought it was terrific.

I guess it is also because I am not a fan of the types of songs that Archie performed - though i loved imagine the first time he sang it. I think the kid is terrific and really no matter who wins they will both have careers. it just seemed weird to me that Simon who had been saying all season (in one way or another) I want Cook to win suddenly threw the night to Archie and barely had a nice thing to say to Cook.

I wondered if he didn't do it on purpose to get the Cook fans dialing

Well Dial Idol hasn't been wrong about a final yet and have only missed once since they started posting during season 4. They had David Cook as the winner by 11 percentage points. So I am hopeful! and yet every single media outlet I've read has Archie as the winner. Is it 8:55pm yet?

For the first time I can relate to the Bandom community because David Cook owns me.

My hubby hasn't watched all season until last night.

He thought DC muffed and thinks I like him because of the way he looks.

I do happen to like the way DC looks, but that has nothing to do with his voice. He's got a great voice and is just better than DA.

I think DA has a great voice as well, but he's young, immature and while he has awesome potential, I wouldn't buy an album from him. Not my kind of music.

David Cook can rock it.

Yep DC didn't win an undecided votes last night becasue DA was on fire. In the end it won't matter because both will have albums and I wouldn't want DA's even if they gave it to me for free - not my kind of music. I want DC's album yesterday
