Recs for a Monday

strangevisitor7I haven't done any recing for awhile and thought it was time. These are older stories that I wanted to remember again. I try to use these rec posts as my own personal archive. These are all general stories
Let's start with sad and angsty and ending with some happy, silliness:
1)nilchance wrote a haunting AU called Gimme Shelter. What if John had lost custody of the boys in those early days. Broke my heart. Along with the sequel Paint it Black.
2)marinarusalka - I read a lot of her stuff when I was lurking. She wrote a get five things called Fistful of Rain or Five lives Dean Winchester didn't live. Another story by her that I really enjoyed was Bargains. Her summery: Sam and Dean investigate a missing-person case in North Carolina, and discover that the situation is weird even by Winchester standards. I don't know how to say more without giving too much away
3)holli Wrote Accidents will Happen. Some Goth teenagers accidentally resurrect John Winchester. I love stories told from an outsiders POV and in this case a teenager in over her head. Hilarious
4)yo_gert wrote a great explanation about how reapers do their reaping.Don't Fear the Reaper: No, really
5)vanillafluffy wrote a hysterical SPN/Stephanie Plum crossover The Jersey Devil If you've read the Janet Evanovich books you must read this story because she captures the Jersey crew perfectly.
