Fic Year in Review
Jan. 1st, 2008 08:51 amSnagged from just about everyone on my flist:
Total fics written this year: I wrote 27 fics (Archive link here) in a variety of fandoms plus 12 in the Immortal!Dean Universe for a total of 109,884 words. I am amazed by this number. I just don"t see how I could have written that much.
My favorite story this year (of my own): I guess I would have to say anything in the Immortal!Dean universe but specifically Waiting on the World to Change because it's the one that explains everything.
I should also mention: Four times Dean Got Fired and One Time He Quit This was the very first story I wrote. I am very proud of it and I suppose if I hadn't loved it, I might never have continued writing.
My best story this year: 5 Times Immortal!Dean met Meta!Chloe". I love my continuing collaboration with
pen37 that began here. Plus, I learned to write Chlean
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: The Rescue of Richie Ryan". I loved this story and it kicked my ass for a while. It didn't get much of a reception.
Most fun story: We Can't Keep her. Chlean snark and wet Dean - what's not to love
Most sexy story & Story with single sexiest moment: Because it is basically the only story I wrote with a sex scene. Everything New is Old Again is a BtVS/SPN cross. Sex in the Impala is never a good idea especially if you're Sam and Dawn
Story with single sweetest moment: Because Gibbs and Abby are just sweet together Gibbs I am. I was unsure of this little one shot but the reception it received just blew me away. It also made me realize that I love writing Abby
Most unintentionally *telling* story: Not really sure what this means. But my first multichapter story Living for Giving the Devil His Due proved to me that I could write the big story arc. It was a real learning experience.
"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story: I'm going with the story most unlike anything elase I wrote: This Safe Life. A real angsty SPN story and my son still hates the ending. Yeah, it was mean.
Biggest disappointment: The Standard Salt and Burn". My one and only attempt at a straight forward SPN hunt story. I think it could have been better.
Biggest surprise: Stand Me Up at the Gates of Hell. This was a story I was very unsure about and then it got nominated at Twisting the Hellmouth. That was a shocker and made me see the story in a new light.
Hardest story to write: An Intriguing Man I did this NCIS/CSI crossover for a ficathon. My first ficathon. I was not thrilled with the assignments I was given and this story was a real chore but I actually ended up liking it.
Easiest story to write: If You Can Take the Peanut from My Hand...". I was inspired because it was for
idontlikegravy for the HL Secret Santa exchange and one of my favorite things I wrote this year.
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most: I guess Immortal!Dean dominated my writing and Red Tape was the story that started it all.
Thank you to everyone who has read one of my stories. Thank you for all your support and your feedback.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
