Back at work and trying to get into the groove after 2 weeks off. Came back to find that the Manager of Operations was fired right before Christmas. Yikes - he'd been here 10 years. Still he and the VP (my Boss and his) always butted heads - so I'm not that surprised. I am relived that my boss seems to like me. I had my annual review and it was good! *breaths sigh of relief* Still the plant is reeaallly slow (Damn Economy) and you never know...

So I guess that's why I broke down and added my name to this list - usually I'm not this needy (Hey, we all have our moments)

Well, I'm glad you've still got a job. Luckily for my family I haven't had to worry too much about that yet - my dad's a farmer, so he's always had to roll with how the markets rise and fall. My mom's a medical transcriptionist... she's pretty high up on the food chain at her job, so she's not horribly worried. *crosses fingers* Hope work at your plant picks up soon! And hope you can ease right back into work!

It is always a shock when they let someone go who you think is immune. I'm hoping the plant picks up soon - it seems like everyone is holding their breath just a little. Glad to hear your family is secure in these uncertain times.

It's always bad when they fire someone right before Christmas. Kind of like a special extra *fuck you*! Not real cool that your boss did that. Very glad that you did well in your evaluation and feel confident in your job. Here's hoping the economy starts to improve very soon.

Thanks *fingers crossed the economy picks up*

Yep it's that fuck you with the side of mean. The consensus (Read gossip) is that the firing was more personal conflict than economy related but still...I agree with you ...not cool to do it the week before Christmas.

It looks good heard today they are interviewing to replace the guy they fired so it doesn't look like if was an economic decision
