strangevisitor7: I will call Her george (Sam and Dean - Dean Show)
[personal profile] strangevisitor7
I will put it under the cut because it's spoilerific.

First some fun things:
How cool was it that Mitch Pileggi of X-files played Dean's grandfather Samuel and his Grandmother was Deanna - Hah excellent names - Dean is a girl.

Dean convinces dad to buy the Impala that he eventually gives to Dean - nice touch.
The crack about cell phones from Star Trek.
Dean thinking his mom's hot and then talking about going to hell...again

The diner scene was so reminiscent of 'Back to the Future' when Marty sits next to his dad and someone calls their last name and they both turn. Bet they did that on purpose.

Now the sad stuff.
Mary and her family turned out to be hunters - inspired. It explains why Mary knew the Demon when he showed up in Sam's nusery.

Everything fit together like Clockwork.

Dean couldn't change it and in a way it seems he helped the Demon find Mary - or is that just the way the Angel was able to show him what happened. The demon caught wind of her simply by being in the area or was Dean 's time travel the reason why why Azazel never killed Dean - he had to make sure Dean went back in time to tell him about Mary - maybe. Sometimes time travel makes my head hurt

When Mary wished her children would never be hunters and Dean begged his mom not to get out of bed on Nov 2nd - It broke my heart. Dean gave up the single manly tear - jesen is awesome with that.

YED killed John and used him to force Mary's hand and make the deal. We know that Azazel's plan is still in motion thanks to Sam and we know more why Angels are interested in Dean.

Overall this was a fantastic episode - I love it when the canon makes sense

On a personal note - I'd squeed like crazy when YED complained about Red Tape (The title of my first Immortal!Dean Story) - LOL See I knew there was red tape in Hell and Dean is Immortal

Dean convinces dad to buy the Impala that he eventually gives to Dean - nice touch.

Which is interesting because in the Prequel comics, that's not how John gets the Impala. He was driving a station wagon when Mary died. Heh. Go figure.

We know that Azazel's plan is still in motion thanks to Sam and we know more why Angels are interested in Dean.

And even more? I'm thinking Lillith's a part of Azazel's plan, or at least trying to mess with it, ya know?

John is sitting on the impala in the pilot after the fire - The first comics series got everything wrong (http://strangevisitor7.livejournal.com/11274.html) and they admitted it. In fact Kripke is writing it now and it's pretty good.

Lilith must have been privy to what YED was doing and is continuing the plan. i think Ruby is in on it too sucking Sam to the dark side under the guise of being helpful

Yeah, I just read the latest SPN comic (which I believe Kripke wrote?) and loved it. Of course, the ending was really troubling.

i think Ruby is in on it too sucking Sam to the dark side under the guise of being helpful

Yep. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." I want to smack Sam senseless for what he's doing...

Jensen was amazing. He can be masculine and heartbreaking at the same time. His begging Mary not to wake up made me cry.

And I still love Castiel, all compassionate yet merciless at the same time.

Kripke did write it - haven't read my copy yet.

But in the 3 minutes Sam was in - I thought he looked good - the hair has been great this season. XD

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts when you do. I should go back and re-read this last series because I'd forgotten some things when I read it yesterday.

I missed Sam in this episode. I really did. As kickass as Jensen was, I missed seeing Jared...

Dean is a girl

I laughed so hard xD

Time travel hurts my head too. I guess we just have to go with it.

And Mary and Dean...so good and so sad. It hurt.

I'm guessing Jared gets an episode to himself later because he had to be filming something else while Jensen was working. otherwise he had the week off and they don't waste time like that

I snickered at the look Dean gave when he repeated the grandma's name when it dawned on him.

John did seem so sweet. Poor Mary - not sure how she could resist that deal

As much as that would be nice, I'm not going to count on it. I just don't feel like the show is moving in that direction. They just shot around Jared's schedule for his film, because he needed to reshoot some F13 stuff.

I'm guessing Mary never told him otherwise he wouldn't have needed Missouri to explain it all. i also think John found out and felt that if Mary had kept hunting or shared with him they would have been protected better.

There are two theories on timetravel: One is the back to the future idea. That time looks like a branching tree, and once a time traveler alters the past, they've simply hopped onto a different branch, or that (as Castiel said) you cannot alter destiny) In which case, Dean always went back in time, he always existed in the 70's, he always convinced his dad to buy the impala (still running like new after 40 years FTW!) he always accidentally put his mom and the YED in the same spot so that they could meet, and he never managed to make the time stream bifibricate.

Kripke has said that when John died, he knew everything that the writer's know. So I'm assuming that Missouri told him a lot.

The Issue that is currently on the newsstands but he's been part of the plotting for the whole second series and it feels much more like the show then the crappy first series did. Everything about the current comic is better. I think they learned their lesson - don't mess with canon or the fan girls will get you.XD

It seems natural that Missouri would have been friends to the Campbells. I think she must have approached John after Mary died.

I actually like that character and wish they'd bring her back

Somehow I'm not cool with the idea that Dean caused it all by introducing the Demon to his Mom, that everything from his grandparents death to Sammy swallowing demon blood is his fault.

I prefer to think of it really as a dream of education from Castiel and not really time travel at all
