A few HL ????s
Aug. 18th, 2007 01:42 pmI am finishing up the third story in my Immortal Dean 'verse and I want to clarify a few HL canon issues. It has to do with the idea of Dean being as foundling or not.
How "canon" is the concept that all Immortals are orphans? Or is it that by the time the Watchers start tracking them there is no way to confirm parentage? I know that Duncan's parents have said they don't know where he came from and I think Ritchie was in foster care. Is it because of them, that this has become canon?
What is the prevailing theory about where the Immortals come from? Would I be committing huge HL heresy if I kept Dean and Sam related? The story can go either way but this is the big turning point.

Date: 2007-08-18 06:21 pm (UTC)As for Sam and Dean being related, just because we never saw related immortals, doens't mean it isn't possible. I was going to take that avenue myself for the HL/Holby fic I write sine now it turns out one of the characters I planned on being a pre immortal is a twin. So, pre-immortal twins!
It's a subject that has lots of theories and ways around show canon, and I think a lot of us have our own pet theories on where Immortals come from, and even if there's a way maybe for really old Immortals to have children, even though it is totalt canon that immies are sterile.

On a completely different topic - What is Holby? I hear youguys talk about it but i've never seen it.

Date: 2007-08-18 10:39 pm (UTC)And seeing as how everyone ignores Highlander 2 and defines Immortals as human there is absolutely no reason why they can't know their parents. Just because it never happened doesn't mean it couldn't happen.
Besides which, the Winchesters have never been one for playing by the rules anyway. ;-)
I think as long as you're true to the universe you're creating and are mindful to stay in character (if that's you're intention) then this grey area of canon can be ignored.
