This was written for [profile] strainconductor who made me a wonderful Sam/Katie icon. She requested Eli Stone and I’m happy to oblige. I have been promising her I would post this for days but that other fic got in the way. Here it is my dear; I hope you enjoy it!

Title: Crystal Ball
Author: [livejournal.com profile] strangevisitor7
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] pen37
Rated: PG
Fandom: SPN & Eli Stone
Characters: Eli Stone, Patty, Missouri Moseley & Dean Winchester
Disclaimer: The characters you know and love all belong to their respective creators.

Summary: Eli Stone has a vision about Patty and her sister, Missouri.

A/N: I know all the Eli Stone episodes have titles from George Michael songs but I’m going with Styx because Dean would hate George Michael.

A/N2: The actress who plays Missouri Moseley from the “Home” episode of SPN also plays Patty on Eli Stone.

Crystal Ball

When Eli entered his apartment to see his assistant, Patty, seated on his couch, his first thought was how did she get in here. When another Patty entered and sat beside the first, his second thought was vision.

He studied the two Pattys. One was dressed in the corporate attire he was use to seeing his assistant wear. The other was in a simple dress without glamorous make-up or accessories and she looked tired.

He could tell they were speaking to each other because their mouths were moving and so were their hands. But their conversation was drowned out as the refrain from Styx’s Renegade permeated the apartment. Eli paused to wonder if his George Michael catalog might be played out and if this signaled the beginning of a 70’s rock revival.

Rarely had his visions spoken directly to him but it was worth a shot. He moved closer, “Patty, what’s going on?” he asked.

Glamorous Patty did not acknowledge his inquiry but Simple Patty, as he’d come to differentiate them in his mind, turned her head to smile at him. “You have the gift,” she said.

“Gift, what gift?” Eli asked. “Is Patty supposed to give me a gift?”

Simple Patty laughed. “No boy, you already have it.” And with that both Patty’s disappeared.

***************************
Eli got into the office early the next morning. The last time Patty appeared in his vision it was because she’d had information critical to a case he was pursuing. With his docket fairly clear he figured this meant that he had to go looking for his client and Patty might hold the clue as to who that could be.

He smiled a cursory hello to his assistant as he approached her desk. “Patty, I need to talk to you. Can you come into my office?

“Sure, Eli.” She rose and followed him. “Is everything okay? You look a little frazzled.”

He placed his briefcase on his desk and turned to face her. “You have a sister right?”

She cocked her head at him. “You know I do. What’s this about?”

“You’re sister; she wouldn’t be a twin sister would she?”

“Actually she is.” Patty replied. “Eli?” She said his name in a way that demanded he explain himself.

Eli huffed out the breath he was holding and smiled. “That’s great. Where is she? Is she visiting? Does she need a lawyer?

“You had a vision about my sister, didn’t you?”

He nodded and Patty digested this information. “Oh Eli.” She mumbled.

“The vision doesn’t mean she’s in trouble. I’m sure she’s fine.” He tried to reassure her.

Patty waved off his concern. “I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. My sister, she has the gift.”

Eli brightened. “She does. That’s great because I think she has to give it to me. At least that’s what my vision said.” Eli paused. “No wait she said I already had it.” He looked at his assistant, confusion on his face.

She was laughing at him. “Eli, she has visions too. The gift is a psychic one.”

“Huh, really?” He wondered if Patty’s sister had an aneurism too. Well, it certainly explained why Patty was willing to believe he was having visions and not simply delusional.

Suddenly his office was gone and he was standing on a road. Older houses lined both sides of the street and the sound of AC/DC’s Back in Black was assaulting him from all directions.

Eli put his hands over his ears and looked around, searching for a clue as to where he was and why he’d been transported here. A low rumbling vibrated up through the pavement. He turned to see a black car speeding toward him. He threw himself out of the way. From his seated position on one of the manicured lawns, he watched the car fade into the distance.

Across the street he noticed that a woman had come to stand on her porch. It was Patty…no it had to be Patty’s sister as he noted her simple dress and sensible shoes. She smiled at him and pointed down the street in the direction that the car had disappeared.

Eli was about to get to his feet to talk to her when he found himself abruptly back in his office sitting on the floor. Patty was staring at him.

“Eli, what happened?”

“I saw your sister again. I should go talk to her. Does she live in town?”

“She’s in Kansas.”

Eli thought about this. “Then I guess I should go to Kansas.”

“Why don’t you let me call her first?” Patty offered.

“Okay,” Eli waited. “Now would be a good time Patty,” he prompted when she didn’t move.

Patty sighed as she circled around Eli’s desk. She picked up the phone and dialed. “It’s ringing,” she announced.

“Put it on speaker will you, Patty.”

She pushed the button and replaced the receiver as the sound of the ringing phone came through the speakers. They waited through a half dozen rings before Patty disconnected the line

“I guess she’s not there.” She said.

“Oh.” Eli looked disappointed. “I was so sure she was the key. By the way, what’s you sister’s name, maybe there’s a clue there.”

“Her name is Missouri Moseley.” Patty said and wrote a number down on a post-it. “Here Eli. Why don’t you try to reach her later? I think you do need to talk to her. She’s lived with a sixth sense all her life and maybe she can help you understand what’s happening to you.”

“Thanks Patty. I will.” He said as he folded the note and placed it in his pocket

Just then the phone rang. Patty reached for it but something made Eli grab it first. “Eli Stone.”

“Mr. Stone, a friend of mine gave me your number and said I should call you if I ever needed a lawyer,” came the gruff voice on the other end of the line.

“Who’s you friend?” Eli asked.

“Missouri Moseley.”

Eli smiled at Patty, “Missouri gave you my number. That’s great.” Patty looked at him with awe. It seemed he’d found his case.

There was a garbled response on the other end of the line.

“I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name.” Eli remarked.

“Winchester, Dean Winchester.”

*hugs back* I am so happy that you enjoyed this little story. I wasn't sure about it as I've never written Eli before. Thrilled to hear you felt the voices rang true.

As for a sequel...well I never thought I'd write Cosmo again and I did. Never know what the muse has in store.

The graphics offer is intriguing. We'll see :)

I'm not a Supernatural fan, but loved the way you hooked the two universes together. I'd been thinking of a Jack Bristow (Alias) and Jordan Wethersby meet up myself. The actors on Eli Stone all have pretty impressive resumes. We could do a variant on Six Degrees and bring in a lot of TV. Off the top of my head I can think of Grays Anatomy, Veronica Mars, Everwood, Species and Commander in Chief.

Thanks. It is fun when you can link an actor to their former role and have it be a fun crossover.
