strangevisitor7: I will call Her george (Tony and Ziva)

So, I started this season with so many new shows on my plate. I tried to sample as many as possible. The DVR is a wonderful thing.

One by one they seem to have dropped off - the new shows are a real dissapointment to me this year with a few exceptions.

Just wondering what new stuff ya'll have been watching and what you have decided isn't worth the time.

Gone from my DVR
- Journeyman - never got above a yawn

- Bionic Woman - Never made it past the ridiculous pilot

- Pushing Daisies - i know a lot of people like this one but I found it grating I have changed my mind about this one and I'm now a fan.

- Reaper - I never laughed, not once. If I want to watch people fight demons I'll stick with Supernatural

So What am I watching this season that makes the TV addict in me Happy?

Chuck - Not great but I love Adam Baldwin and this show makes me laugh.

Moonlight - Mick St John...oh sorry lost my train of thought. Yeah, he's my new TV boyfriend. Love the idea that stakes only paralyze and sunlight is painful but not deadly. They are doing a good job of creating a unique Vampire world.

Returning Favorites:

NCIS: How much did i love this episode. Ducky's flirting with Tori Higgins (SGAs - Dr Weir) so adorable. Loved Ziva challenging Tony to find a real woman - her (we all know that is what she meant). Ziva bonding over a little girl power and the return of Fornell. He and Gibbs are a scary duet in interrogation. But best of all The Princess Bride Reference - great movie and a great twist in the episode.

Supernatural - Nothing much to add to all the reviews floating around expect that Ben rocks and he's really Dean's son no matter how much Lisa denies it. I know it's true because fanfiction has already declared it to be so :)

Heroes - Finally steps up to the plate. Matt's Dad is one of the Nine and the Boogeyman. Plus they explain where his wife went. The wonder twins find Sylar and actually get interesting. Micah's Cousin can mimic any talent she sees. Is it just from TV or any where?

Stargate:Atlantis - Still love this show and I think the addition of Carter may not be as awful as I once thought. If they curb Rodney's stalker tendencies they may actually have a fun relationship. The Ronon centric episodes are always good. Seeing Tori on NCIS made me miss her though and I hope she isn't gone for good.

So [personal profile] trystan830 and I were talking about staying with a series to the bitter end. She stays but I am more likely to bail. That got me wondering which shows are you still watching but don't know why and which one have you bailed on. Just curious

I am willing to drop many shows when they begin to annoy me like CSI:Miami - haven't watched since Speed died - or when a favorite character leaves like ER when Clooney left. I still watch Smallville, though - go figure.

We're way behind with Nin's schedule and being away for nearly four days. But, of what we've seen.... Loving Journeyman & Chuck. Mooonlight and Women's Murder Club have potential. Also like K-Ville. Need to see more Bionic Woman. Haven't seen Reaper or Daisies yet.

ooh I forgot about Woman's Murder Club. I liked the first episode - loved the books and I think the casting choices are perfect. It is fun to see a full cast of competent, intelligent Woman taking charge of a show.

I like Medium too.
L&O was one I dropped when Lenny died - just couldn't deal with his replacements.

My son and I went on a 24 binge and watched all the seasons this past summer to get ready for the new one. Well, we still have to rent the last season - I see it is out on DVD in December. Love Tony Almeida - so not looking forward to that season without him.

Huh- I thought stakes always killed. I know Josh decided to dust them because he didn't want bodies lying around.

Well I guess we actually started the 24 marathon in the spring but it really is the best way to watch 24 - no cliff hangers :)

So do you watch Smallville or just read the Chlean?

One of the new shows I'm loving so far is "Life". The Bionic woman irritated me with the first episode.

Bionic woman and Moonlight both dropped off my viewing schedule immediately. I hated them both. Pushing Daisies is on the bubble for me ... don't know if it will hold or not, but for now, I'm watching. Reaper has fallen off the scale. I really, really, REALLY wanted to like it; but it simply isn't funny.

Journeyman still has hold of me by the fingernails ... I can't say I really enjoy it, but it's just interesting enough to keep me tuning in ... for now. I'm about out of being able to hold on though, sad to say.

New shows I'm hip-deep in love with include Chuck, Cane, Dirty Sexy Money, K-Ville and The Big Bang Theory. Won't miss any of them, they make me laugh. Also loved the premiere of Women's Murder Club.

Returning shows ... NCIS stays on our schedule mostly because my hubs enjoys it, but I love the characters (if not the stories), and Mark Harmon along with Abby, Ducky and Proby make it enjoyable enough to keep on keeping on. The Unit has hit it's stride again (after a horrendous last half season last year) so it's back on the schedule full time. Boston Legal has finally fallen completely off ... we just can't take the stupid or the politic any longer. Spader and Shatner are funny, but they aren't THAT funny.

SGA is running a little weak for me, but losing Torri is a great start, and guesting Mark Dacascos will keep me in the fold all season waiting for him to show up again. Rodney and Shepherd are enough fun to carry that one for the most part, so I keep watching.

I wouldn't miss Supernatural, Burn Notice, The Riches or Eureka for love nor money ... they are the A-list around my digs.

Still hanging in there for Criminal Minds. STill enjoying How I Met Your Mother, and still suffering through (and bitching about) 2.5 Men and Rules of Engagement. I really love my hubs or I wouldn't watch those things.

We could never get into either Heroes or Smallville; Psych has completely dropped off our view schedule afer this season, and Monk stays on just because it runs hot and cold, so at least 1/3 of the eps are worth watching. And, you know, Tony Shaloub, so I'll stick with him if I can.

We were surprised to like Saving Grace as much as we did (love is a better word), but even D'O is being hard pressed to keep me watching LOCI. That show breaks my heart every week with how great it was then and how much it sucks now. I'm still eh-eh on ER (catch it if I'm in front of the TV) but leaning toward Stamos not holding me since Goran is gone. I'm DYING for Medium to come back on, and I'm indifferent about 24 ... it was great last season, but I'm not convinced it hasn't run it's course.

Ummm ... that's all I can think of.

I agree about Boston Legal - It has become tired and they always win. It stays on the DVR mostly for Hubby - one of his must sees.

Love Eureka & Burn Notice - The summer sesons make for a well balanced year.

HIMYM is the only 1/2 hour comedy I must see - 2.5 Men gets some play because hubby and the kids love it and like you I watch along.

My mother loves Criminal minds and I have thought to watch because she convinced me to watch NCIS which is still my #2 show though season 4 was weak.(SPN is #1 No Suprise :p) And my Wednesday is wide open - so this may be the time to catch it.

I was slow to catch the BSG love. Hubby loved it from the begining and kept telling me to watch. When I fianlly realized it was great I had to go buy Season 1 to catch up.

Oh I forgot to mention Dr. Who - Love Ten!

I wanted to like Journeyman. I really, really did. But the whole "he keeps seeing his ex who he's really in love with" plotline bothered me. I take marriage very seriously.

I love Reaper simply for Tyler Labine, because he looks and acts just like my husband.

Chuck! I'm loving me some Chuck. Too cute, but I can't seem to ship him with Sarah, and I don't have any other female choices. :( (I'm thisclose to genderbending Morgan.)

Mmmm...Moonlight...Mick St. John. That is all.

As for your question, I can think of only three TV series I stayed with until the bitter end - Highlander, Quantum Leap, and Charmed. All the rest I dropped usually after the third season.

Oo Morgan as a girl - well you're the expert in gender bender. Love Chuck - Still Squee every time they call Adam Baldwin's character Casey - Silly fan girl

As a QL fan to the bitter end (heck I wrote fics), I wanted to like Journeyman too but The idea that he married his brothers girl and pines for his not!dead ex is too squicky for me, too.

I dropped Charmed the season after son from the future left. I need my eye candy and Cole was gone too. :)

Mick St. John.....Mmm

I really like him and that whole story line a lot. it just seemed to go down hill after. Also, We did not have a good WB station until the merge to the CW - that was why i missed SPN season one.

And once again - Mick St. John...Mmmmmmmmmm ;P

Me, I've only just gotten into NCIS and Supernatural (after the fic lead me to watch) but I'm already addicted. Unfortunately I don't have DVR or Tivo or anything like that so when I had a class Friday evenings I fell behind and never quite got around to catching up with Stargate: Atlantis, but I liked it when I was watching. As for CSI: Miami, I haven't watched since Speed left either. I refuse to believe he died.

Have you read any of [livejournal.com profile] bjjones Sylum Clan (http://www.sylumclan.com/) stories? Apparently it started as a way to keep Speed alive, or in this case undead, and grew from there.

I will definitely have to check out those stories. Thanks for the rec!

I get very unhappy when shows kill my favorite character. Why don;t they ever kill the annoying one. Miami lured me back in with the promise of Speeds return and then it was just a hulicination - but it just mad me angrier at the show.

Welcome to Supernatural - this fandom will suck you in. If you have any questions just ask. I'm always happy to help out another fan girl. :D
