Time Cannot Erase
Ezra stood in front of the six graves. They hadn't died here but he'd moved them to this hillside overlooking a peaceful valley. They would have liked the view.
One hundred years ago, he'd agreed to help protect a Seminole village with six strangers. Images of the seven of them riding together remained fresh in his mind to this day. He'd thought it would last forever, but their time together had been too short when measured against the years of his Immortality.
He knelt to place a single forget-me-not on each of the graves.
As Ezra walked away, he wondered when it would stop hurting this much.
