Teminator - TV Addict thoughts

Just finished watching episode two of The Sarah Conner Chronicles and while I'm still deciding if I like the show there was one thing that I just found it so humorous.

The Conner's new identities are from Lawrence, Kansas. Bad Choice. Don't they know about all the strange and bad things that happen to people from Kansas. Really don't they already have enough problems.

I'm liking it so far. But I've always had a thing for the terminator verse (all of the movies). Plus, it may finally push me to write my 10 chapter BtVS crossover fic that I've been planning for several years now.

I did make some icons tonight...

And on that Lawrence, KS part... I shouted out, "CROSSOVER!" as soon as I heard it. Think I both scared and confused my roommate.

:-)

I laughed so hard and went - poor Conners. *hee*

This universe definitely is crossover worthy. If Skynet did happen I could totally see the Winchesters as John Conner's Lts.

I am definitely going to keep watching as I do love the Terminator 'verse too and Claire's ex makes a great John.

Great icons BTW

Maybe the people who made the show are fans of Supernatural? *shrugs* The only thing I watch on FOX is House and was never that excited about TSCC to actually watch it.

Hehe though. Hehe.

As much as I'd like to belive it is a WInchester shout out & that was my first thought. i believe it is more likely a reference to the 1983 TV movie "The Day After" Quick Summary: A nuclear bomb was dropped on Lawrence, Kansas and the movie dealt with the holocaust that followed. Definitely a parallel to the SCC.

I wonder if that is why Kripke picked that city as well as a home town for our boys.

It's very possible, even though I'm never seen the movie - did it premiere on Sam's birthday or the day their mom died? *snicker* You know, since Sam was born in 83 and all...

Good point. I just checked IMbD & the Movie was released Nov 20th. Looks like the Winchesters got out just in time :D

Poor Lawrence, Kansas - what did it ever do to deserve this treatment? LOL.

Proof that all the weird flows to and from kansas :)

*giggle*

Lawrence, KS, huh? Are they asking for crossover fic? :)

[identity profile] strangevisitor7.livejournal.com 2008-01-15 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That was my first thought. My second was kansas is just the place where all the weird comes from :)

I blame the Wizard of Oz.

I actually listed all the weird stuff about Kansas (http://strangevisitor7.livejournal.com/1066.html). in an earlier post. We noticed that being from Kansas is just asking for trouble

Yep! makes you wonder who the producers were giving the shout out to.

BTW Love your the icon - great episode.
